چکیده

This paper discusses the application of plant-wide control philosophy to enhance the performance and capacity of the Produced Water Treatment (PWT) in offshore oil & gas production processes. Different from most existing facilityor material-based PWT innovation methods, the objective of this work is to propose a software-based breakthrough PWT innovation solution. This is achieved through integration of an intelligent anti-slug control with a coordinated separator and hydrocyclone control. Some undergoing work and results are also introduced. The proposed solution will promote a completely new generation of PWT system in terms of better environmental protection, along with significantly improved production and reduced cost-vs-production ratio.

Using an osmotic membrane pressure actuator (OMPA) for enhanced oil and gas recovery – the concept

The energy demand in our modern society is continuously rising, which clearly shows that fossil fuels will for many decades still play an important role – oil and natural gas are important energy resources in this picture. Nevertheless, oil and natural gas reserves are limited, and it is therefore a prioritized task to produce more oil and gas from existing wells and reservoirs for better explo...

A CFD Simulation of the Parameters Affecting the Performance of Downhole De-oiling Hydrocyclone

Among the all parameters affecting the performance of a downhole de-oiling hydrocyclone, the investigation of internal flow field deserves more attempts especially in the petroleum industry. In this study, the effects of inlet flow rate, inlet oil volume fraction, and oil droplet diameter on the separation efficiency and pressure drop ratio have been investigated along the hydrocyclone body. Al...

Cost-Benefit Investigation of Offshore Wind Power Generation for Soroush Offshore Complex

Iranian offshore oil and gas platforms are mostly located in the Persian Gulf. Technical and environmental challenges resulted from an off-design running condition of processes on a platform are important issues. The weakness of strategies to stop or decrease the amount of greenhouse gas emission production rate in the Persian Gulf; which is intensively increasing, is another matter of concern....
